đź’§ 2. Maintain Perfect Water Chemistry
Proper chemical balance keeps your water crystal clear and safe for swimmers. This part seems to be the most daunting for homeowners, but its actually way simpler than you think. With a little bit of Youtube university and some practice, you will be like a pro in no time.Â
Weekly water checks:Â Here is what to check for weekly and the ideal range you want each chemical reading to be at. While Cyanuric Acid and Calcium hardness are important, your most important readings are #1 pH, #2 Chlorine, #3 Alkalinity.Â
Chlorine: 1–3 ppm
pH: 7.2–7.8
Alkalinity: 80–120 ppm
Cyanuric Acid: 30–50 ppm (for chlorine stability)
Calcium Hardness: 200–400 ppm
